Ending the Inquisition - Trump’s Solution

"Here’s the solution to the outrageous DOJ corruption that is jeopardizing the Trump agenda. Attorney General, Jeff Sessions, is clearly compromised. The Deep State power boys have something very bad that they are holding over his head that they will expose if he gets rebellious and decides to oppose the perpetuation of the Deep State. This has quieted Sessions and made him into a mouse instead of a tiger.

So Trump needs to bite the bullet and fire him while replacing him with a top legal Washington outsider who is clearly a conservative and possessed of a squeaky clean record. The new AG will then “reassign” the rodent Rosenstein and bring in someone more supportive of the Trump agenda as Deputy AG. Give Rosenstein the job of cleaning out the Justice Department restrooms."

    Not so sure Sessions is the good little puppy everybody seems to think he is. Lots of investigations going on, and when the IG report is revealed (soon) there will be lots of ammunition to start cleaning out the coop in the DOJ. Going public too soon can leave some culprits the chance to cover their tracks. It's all a matter of timing. Mueller has nothing so far, but if he can keep the investigation/inquisition going up to this Fall's elections, it will favor the Democrats. Sessions needs to unleash his broadside in the next month or so, and what's revealed should give him ammunition to shut Mueller down for good.

        "Protected from prosecution", brings up the 5th Amendment. The Double Jeopardy clause in the Fifth Amendment to the U. S. Constitution provides that "No person shall ... be subject for the same offense to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb." However, in order to qualify (to be protected) don't you have to be charged and tried with a crime? Hillary was never been charged or tried for any crimes as far as I can tell. If she had been tried and found "not guilty", then she would be home free. I still want to see her charged and tried in a proper court of law. When a country gets so divided that there can not possibly be a civil solution it evolves into a civil war.

        Sadly, bullets may be the only cost effective solution. Rand's scenario, the collapse of the entire system is not likely given the size of the swamp. Trump needs all the help he can get.

    Though me dino is an Alabamian who once upon a time voted for Sessions, I don't understand why Trump has not fired him when he originally recused himself.
    It's been supposed by some here in The Gulch that Sessions is some sort of sly fox in a chicken coop called The Swamp.
    So when do we get to see any foul fowl get their comeuppance? Me no see any. .
    Excuse me as me dino goes outside to watch the grass grow. This year it's been cut four times for actually doing something despite unusual cold snaps.

      He had to recuse himself. Legal necessity. There is a lot going on that is not obvious to the casual observer.

      I think Trump is totally on target to snare some big fish while even his friends are complaining that he's failing to go after minnows.

        IMO, Sessions should have stepped down and let someone else do his job--the job he could no longer do with full effectiveness.
        That way, me dino may have respected Sessions enough to vote for him again at a later date.

    The deep state is not just our government people. It is a world-wide organization that uses world leaders as puppets. Trump is fighting much more than the DOJ.

    The thing I am trying to wrap my head around is how the hell in this country and with the defined Constitutional Republic we were supposed to have, do we end up with this unassailable grand inquisitor called a "Special" Counsel. Interesting how some try to extend it to Special Prosecutor as well.
    How does a "Special" Grand Wazoo get appointed and anointed in the first place with near unlimited powers without any evidence that something wrong has been done? This is ridiculous.

    Sessions should have never been taken out of the senate and wasted as AG. I always wanted Giuliani. But I guess he didn’t want the job

      The trouble with Giuliani is the same as the trouble with Sessions: they both oppose criminal justice reform, and won't go after cops who violate the constitution such as by stop-and-frisk. Remember, Giuliani started that policy in NYC.

        We cant expect the establishment to abolish the establishment, but we can hope that it will be stopped or maybe rolled back a little. Imagine the hatred and vitriol a true objectivist would face (if not death itself) if he had Trump's job by sme twist of fate

          John Galt would probably have to lead a military coup to get the government back into line with the Constitution again. And I'm not sure he'd be willing to do it. There are times when breaking the rules is the only way.

            I think that’s why rand had the storyline in AS the way it was. It will take a collapse of collectivist culture to garner enough support for a change. The problem would be that people might gravitate towards just another form of collectivism

                I think the attraction to socialism is the feeling that people can escape responsibility for their own lives by transferring that responsibility to some "greater power". Hence Hillary's mantra "Stronger Together" kind of said it all. The whole thing is really crazy- how is a group of irresponsible people ever going to do responsible things just because they are "together".
