Trump voters are being called on to crowdfund border wall: ‘It could be a people’s wall’

I suggested this a long time ago. This Goodman guy is right though when expressing concern about getting our monies worth...not to mention, making sure the money actually funds the wall.
One responder also suggested we sell add space.

Would you donate to help fund the wall?

It is not just a matter of "free stuff". The welfare state exists because of the broad acceptance of altruist collectivist premises. Without reversing that popular philosophical acceptance there will be no end to "giveaway programs". The country is becoming an international "welfare central" for the same reasons that domestic welfare statism is accepted.

A physical wall with gates and free passes is not an answer to the false premises and their acceptance. A wall might slow some of them down but not stop them now; with more extreme collectivists in power in the declining trend it would do nothing with gates wide open and invitations dropped from the sky worldwide.

This is an intellectual problem for the spread of the right ideas, not "free stuff" and physical walls trying to substitute for that.

In Israel the wall is a means of enforcing a meaningful policy that we don't have. Walls have gates and free passes are already being issued.

I disagree about its practicality though I am in agreement that it is all but impossible to achieve.

The alleged 95% "where the wall has been rebuilt" is meaningless. 95% have enough sense to go around the end of the wall so they don't have to scale it or tunnel under it.

In Texas if you claim to be homeless you are showered with a wide variety of things and cannot be turned away. Many illegals claim homelessness no matter their true living situation. They literally are given all the school supplies they might need along with clothes. Free lunches and breakfast plus any fees a normal student would have to pay are waived.

A wall would do nothing without a national policy to enforce proper immigration laws. Walls have gates and welfare statists and other socialists are issuing free passes.

That does not address the problem. Eliminating welfare is not a practical expectation and Congress still has to appropriate the funds.

Who could take that seriously other than Trump idolizers who don't think? It was the usual Trump fantasy campaign hyperbole, later rationalized with the same vague hyperbole claiming that better "trade deals" would somehow pay for it in an unspecified way. Democrats are now calling his bluff as they say, tongue in cheek, that Congress doesn't have to appropriate the funds because "Mexico" will pay for it.

There are a lot of leftist activist Federal judges at all levels, probably still more than half. Trump's appointments to the viro agencies have not stopped their agenda; he reduced some of the regulations but did not eliminate the activist mentality entrenched within the agencies and the improper anti-private property rights laws.

Most of what government does at our expense is not a "benefit" to us at all -- we are not getting benefits for the taxes we pay; the money is used to impose controls and redistribute the wealth. Instead of resenting people who do not pay as much in taxes and advocate that they be taxed more, concentrate on reducing the tax system.

Where are you that students can attend public schools without paying taxes? In many states the local public schools are paid for with property taxes, with some state subsidies. In the northeast about 2/3 of property taxes go to the local government school system. Attending the local school requires residency in the town or city. Residents who rent have a landlord who pays the taxes. Property owners are being bilked, mostly for redistribution to legal citizens and the teachers' union, with little left over for police and fire protection.

Private funding of the wall is not legal. You can donate money to the government but not dictate how it is spent. Congress appropriates funds. Would you want a system of government in which political activists could give money to the government to impose government force for whatever they want?

I'd do it in a minute. To me, it's no different than donating to a Presidential candidates campaign...you either get what you hope you paid for, or you don't. It's the chance you take.

I'd probably, at least, like my name on it, somewhere.

Fivedollargold thinks captured illegals should be offered a choice: be imprisoned for three months, then shipped home or spend six months working on the wall, then get a green card.

Yeah, I get that. What I'm saying it that I pay thousands in taxes every year. The funding should come from there.....but it won't because Pelosi and Schumer will obstruct. Even if a go-fund-me was successful and raised the $5Billion Trump wants for the Wall, would it get there, or swallowed up by some other lame program.....and if it were successful, you can bet that some liberal, Obama-appointed federal judge would block it. Trump can't win this one, you can't win this one, and the American people can't win this one....because....the powers against Trump are massive and unscrupulous... and the Wall won't allow it. Why?? You know why.

That is what every member of government does too...I don't call them: Parasitical Humanoids and the government a Kakistocracy, for no reason.

To let it all happen so we can build from the ashes. We are past stopping the inevitable, in my opinion. The sane thing to do would be to only allow US citizens to receive taxed paid benefits such as schools, housing and financial aid. But that just isn't going to happen. Building a wall is just a temporary determent. If you build it, they will come. They will always come.

Over the long term from the new trade deal...at least, that is what the Trump Admin. is saying...haven't looked into that.

From what I understand so far, all debt may very well be wiped out, "IF" and "When" the financial system, [the fed] is restructured and the dollar rebooted and backed by gold once again.

If Trumpet pulls that off?...it would be historic!
